Roots with tubers.
Stem erect, to 50 cm high.
Basal leaves 2–3-pinnate with short linear-lanceolate segments.
Flowers 2-3 cm in diameter.
Sepals 5, lanceolate, spreading laterally or pointing upwards during flowering, always adnate to the corolla.
Flowering April-June1.
Dry grassy areas and scrub2.
Throughout the country from sea level to 800 meters altitude3.
