Description and identification

High mountain tufted perennial plant with flower stems 3-8 cm long. Flowering May - August².

Distribution in Bulgaria

In the next floristic regions: The Rhodopes (middle), The Pirin and The Slavianka³.

General distribution

Balkan endemic species - Bulgaria and Greece⁴.

Notes

The plant is named after bulgarian knyaz (1887–1908) and tsar (1908–1918) Ferdinand I who was botanist and sponsor of bulgarian botanical science⁵.
