Conservation status and threats

NOT protected species in Bulgaria.

Description and identification

Herbaceous perennial plant. Flower stems height 2 to 6 cm. The leaves 2,5-4 mm long. The petals 6-8 mm long, white with yellow at the base, with red dots. Flowering July-September^[1][2].

Habitat

On rocky places, on silicate terrain, in the alpine belt^[3].

Distribution in Bulgaria

In the mountains Western and Central Stara Planina, Pirin, Rila, Western Rhodopes, between 1800 and 2900 m altitude^[4].

General distribution

The mountains of Central, Eastern and Southern Europe^[5].
