Description and identification

Perennial herbaceous plant, stems are to 15 см tall. Leaves 2-3, linear-lanceolate, 5-9 mm wide, flat, erect, shorter than the inflorescence, narrowed at the base. Inflorescence ovate. Perianth 2.5-4 mm, globose or ovate, dove-blue (rarely white), with recurved white teeth. Fruit capsule obovate. Flowering March to May¹.

Habitat

Light forests, scrub, meadows, grasslands and grassy areas².

Distribution in Bulgaria

Widespread throughout the country from sea level to 2900 m altitude³.
