Description and identification

Juncus trifidus is an perennial herbaceous plant, to 15 cm high. Bracts are leaf-like. Tepals 4-5 mm long, oval-lanceolate, pointed, dark brown. Flowering July-August1.


Habitat

On rocks, rock screes and stony meadows on silicate terrain in the alpine zone of the mountains2.
