NOT protected species in Bulgaria.


Description and identification

Perennial herb 10 to 40 cm tall. The stem is glaberous. Inflorescence composed of 1 to 5 flowers. The edge of the sepals is entire. Petals 1.5 to 2.5 cm long. The leaves are without truncated branches at the base. Flowering season: June-July[1].


Distribution in Bulgaria

It is found in the following floristic regions: Stara Planina (Middle and Eastern), Sredna Gora, Western Border Mountains, Rila, Pirin, Belasitsa, Slavyanka, Struma Valley, Mesta Valley, Rhodopes, Thracian Plain and Tundzha Hilly Plain, from 300 to at 1500 meters above sea level[2].
