Description and identification

Euphorbia salicifolia is a perennial plant. Stems numerous, 40-70 (-80) cm high, erect, short hirsute to glabrous, simple or in the upper part with numerous non-fruiting branches reaching the apical inflorescence. Leaves (especially young) densely hirsute on abaxial surface, 20-70 (100) mm long and 3-25 (-35) mm wide. The glands in the cyathium are crescent shaped with hornlike appendages. Flowering April - June1, 2.


Habitat

The meadows and by the forests, often by the roads or railways, in the plains and mountains3.


Distribution in Bulgaria

Spread across the country, from 50 to 1400 meters altitude4.
