Silene pusilla is a perennial, tufted herbaceous plant, 10 to 25 cm tall. The stems are numerous, thin, tender, branched. Leaves linear to linear-lanceolate, margin entire, with one vein, obtuse or pointed at the apex, 1-4 cm long, 0.8-3 mm wide, sessile. Calyx shorter than 7 mm, with glandular hairs. Petals white or pink. Styles 3. Seeds black-brown to black, kidney-shaped. Flowering June - August1.
On wet rocks, along mountain streams and wet grassy and stony places in the alpine zone2.
In the mountains Sredna Stara Planina, Slavyanka, Pirin, Rila; between 1300 and 2550 m alt3.
