NOT protected species in Bulgaria.

Description and identification

Iberis sempervirens is a spreading subshrub growing to 30 cm. The leaf blade of the leaves is leathery, 25–75 mm long, 2 to 5 millimetres wide, oblong spatulate to lanceolate, obtuse with a pointed base. Flowering April-July¹.

Habitat

On dry stony slopes, most often on calcareous habitats in the highland belt².

Distribution in Bulgaria

In the mountains Western and Central Stara Planina, Rila, Pirin, Western Rhodopes; from 1500 to 2300 meters altitude³.

Native general distribution

Southern Europe, Mediterranean, Southwest Asia (Asia Minor)⁴.
