NOT protected species in Bulgaria.

Description and identification

Herbaceous perennial plant. The stem 0.6-1.5 m high. The leaves are entire or toothed. Flower heads 2-4 cm in diameter. The stem is branched, at the top the flower heads combined into umbel. Fruits covered with hairs. Flowering June-August¹.

Habitat

In sparse xerophilous forests and scrub, on dry rocky, stony and grassy places, on limestone².

Distribution in Bulgaria

Western Stara Planina, Sofia region, Znepol region, Slavyanka, Middle and Eastern Rhodopes, Thracian lowland, Tundzhan hilly plain, from 200 to 1600 (1800) m altitude³.
