NOT protected species in Bulgaria.


Description and identification

Herbaceous perennial plant. The stem 0.6-1.5 m high. The leaves are entire or toothed. Flower heads 2-4 cm in diameter. The stem is branched, at the top the flower heads combined into umbel. Fruits covered with hairs. Flowering June-August1.


Habitat

In sparse xerophilous forests and scrub, on dry rocky, stony and grassy places, on limestone2.


Distribution in Bulgaria

Western Stara Planina, Sofia region, Znepol region, Slavyanka, Middle and Eastern Rhodopes, Thracian lowland, Tundzhan hilly plain, from 200 to 1600 (1800) m altitude3.
