Description and identification

A perennial herb, stems that are 25-75 см tall. Leaves with reticulate veins, cordate at the base and more or less clasping, hardened, ovate. Leaf margin serrulate. Flowering June-July¹.

Habitat

Forests and scrub².

Distribution in Bulgaria

Throughout the country from 0 to 1000 meters altitude³.

Taxonomic notes

The species is also considered as Inula salicina subsp. aspera (Poir.) Hayek or Pentanema asperum (Poir.) G.V.Boiko & Korniy.
