Laserpitium siler L., synonym: Siler garganicum.

Conservation status and threats

Not protected species in Bulgaria.

Description and identification

Laserpitium siler is a perennial herbaceous plant, 30 to 100 cm high. The leaf segments are entire. Flowering June-August¹.

Habitat

Dry steep rocky slopes, in sparse forests and scrub, on grassy and stony places, mainly in the mountain belt on calcareous terrain².

Distribution in Bulgaria

Stara Planina, Sredna gora, Znepole Region, Sofia Region, The Pirin, The Slavianka and The Rhodopes (middle)³.

General distribution

Southern and southern parts of Central Europe (Spain, France, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, former Yugoslavia, Albania and Greece)⁴.
