Deciduous tree or shrub up to 6 m high. Flowering April - June.

Distribution in Bulgaria

In the next floristic regions: The Black Sea coast, Stara Planina (east), The Struma Valley, The Slavianka, The Mesta Valley, The Pirin, Sredna gora, The Rhodopes, Thracian Plane, The Strandzha and The Tundzha Hilly Plane; up to 400 m above see levels [Delipavlov et al., 2003].
