Description and identification

Galium rotundifolium is a perennial herbaceous plant, growing from 10 to 25 cm in height, rarely up to 35 cm. The distinguishing features of the species are: leaves with 3 main veins, arranged in whorls of 4, 1.5 to 2 times longer than wide, ovate to nearly round¹.

Flowering June-July.

Habitat

Mostly in coniferous forests, less often in clearings and thinned mixed deciduous forests, in the foothills and mountains².
