Conservation status and threats

NOT protected species in Bulgaria.

Description and identification

Herbaceous perennial plant. Height up to 20 cm. The stem leaves are only 1 or 2 pairs, the remaining leaves are at the base of the stem in a leaf rosette. The inflorescences are on the top of the stem, single, round, concave, with 5-10 flowers. The calyx is covered with glandular trichomes. Flowering June-August^[1].

Habitat

Grassy places in the alpine belt^[2].

Distribution in Bulgaria

In the following mountains: Rila, Pirin, Vitosha, Western and Central Stara Planina, Slavyanka and Osogovo, where it grows from 1800 to 2600 meters above sea level^[3].
