Description and identification

A deciduous shrub, 30 to 60 cm tall.

The leaves are trifoliate (in other blackberry species the leaves are palmate and have 5 leaflets).

The stipules are broad-lanceolate (in other species they are filiform, linear to lanceolate).

Aggregate fruit is composed of a small number of large fruitlets.

Flowering May-August1.


Habitat

Rocky slopes, fields, fallows and scrub in the plains and mountains2.


Distribution in Bulgaria

In the whole country; to 1600 meters altitude3.
