Deciduous tree. With two extrafloral nectaries on the petiole of the leaf. Flowering April-May¹.

Widespread, up to 1000 - 1200 m altitude².

Central and Southern Europe, Western Siberia, the Mediterranean, Southwest Asia, the Caucasus, North Africa ³.
