Description and identification

Briza media is a perennial grass. Panicle up to 15 cm long, at first compact, later spreading. Spikelets drooping, rounded to heart-shaped, 3-10 mm long and up to 5 mm wide, on long stalks, with 3-12 flowers¹.

Habitat

Meadows, forest crops and scrub².

Distribution in Bulgaria

Throughout the country from 0 to 1800 meters above sea level³.
