Description and identification

Coeloglossum viride is a herbaceous plant. Stem up to 25 cm high, leafy. Leaves usually 5, oval or oblong. Inflorescence oblong or cylindrical. Bracts lanceolate, as long as the flowers, with 3 veins each. Perianth leaves greenish, oval, almost half join to each other in a hood. Labellum downwards, oblong linear, anteriorly tridentate. Flowernig May-July1.
