Description and identification

Salvia verticillata is a perennial herb. Stems 30-70 cm high. Flowers 15 to 40 arranged in whorl. Flowering June-September1.


Habitat

On stony places and through scrub, roadsides and in stormy places in the plains, foothills and mountains2.


Dstribution in Bulgaria

Throughout the country from sea level to 1800 m altitude3.


General dstribution

Southern, Eastern and Central (partly) Europe, Southwest Asia, Caucasus. Introduced and cultivated in many places in Northern Europe and North America4.
