Pyrenean Gentian
Gentiana pyrenaica L.
NOT protected species in Bulgaria.
Herbaceous perennial plant 4 to 30 cm (1.5-11.8 in) tall. The corolla is 2-3 cm (0.78-1.18 in) long and has 10 lobes. The basal leaf are 4-8 mm long. Flowering season: June-August[1].
Wetlands and peat meadows in the high mountain belt[2].
Found in the following mountains: Rila, Pirin and Vitosha; between 1500 and 2900 m (≈4 900-9 500 ft) altitude[3].
Bulgaria, France, Spain, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Turkey, Ukraine[4].
