Trifolium nigrescens is a annual herbaceous plant. The stems are prostrate, branched from the base, 5 to 30 cm long. The leaflets are obovate or rhombic, often with black spots. Stipules triangular-lanceolate. Flower heads 1-2 cm wide, with petioles longer than the leaves. Corolla white or pink, 1 to 2 times longer than the calyx. Calyx with 10 veins. Flowering May-August1.
In dry and moderately humid open places in the lowlands, foothills and lower mountain belt2.
Native in Bulgaria in the next floristic regions: Danube Plain, Sofia Region, Znepol Region, Vitoshki Region, Struma Valley, Eastern Rhodopes, Belasitsa, Rila, Thracian Lowland, Tundzhan Hilly Plain, up to 1000 meters above sea level3.
