Description and identification

А herbaceous annual plant. Stems 2.5-20 cm long. Leaves ovate, rarely elliptic-lanceolate or almost round, apex pointed, with 3-5 veins, 2.5-8 mm long, 2-4 mm wide. Petals white, ovate, narrowed at base, 1/2 to 2/3 as long as calyx. Capsule broadly ovate or hemispherical, sharply narrowed towards apex, less than twice as long as wide, with robust walls, 2-4.5 mm long, usually longer than calyx. Flowering May-August1.

In sandy places, roadsides, uncultivated places or weeds in crops2.


Distribution in Bulgaria

Throughout the country to 1000 m altitude3.
