Description and identificationHigh mountain tufted perennial plant with flower stems 3-8 cm long. Flowering May - August [Kuzmanov, 1970].
Distribution in BulgariaIn the next floristic regions: The Rhodopes (middle), The Pirin and The Slavianka [Kuzmanov, 1970].
General distributionBalkan endemic species - Bulgaria and Greece.
NotesThe plant is named after bulgarian knyaz (1887–1908) and tsar (1908–1918) Ferdinand I who was botanist and sponsor of bulgarian botanical science.
